Microneedling

MICRONEEDLING

Also known as collagen induction, it is a minimally invasive procedure for your skin. In this procedure the Health care specialist uses thin needles to create micro-perforations in the skin’s superficial layer. These controlled injuries cause the skin to react by forming collagen and elastin, thus improving the appearance of scars and the skin overall.

Ideal for treating scars and stretch marks

Improves the appearance of wrinkles

Minimizes enlarged pores

Keep your skin firm and smooth

Add Active Ingredients:

You can choose to undergo microneedling treatment with or without the use of other products. It is possible to use active ingredients in a microneedling session, which can reach the deeper layers of the skin (beyond the acid mantle) thanks to the puncture channels created.

FAQs

Before microneedling session you should:

  • Avoid Sun Exposure: Do not expose yourself to intense sun for at least a week before your treatment to prevent any additional irritation.

  • Hydrate Your Skin: Keep your skin well-hydrated in the days leading up to the treatment.

  • Avoid Irritating Products: Discontinue the application of products containing retinol, salicylic acid, depigmenting treatments or any other ingredients that might irritate the skin a few days before the treatment.

  • Inform About Your Medical History: Communicate with the specialist if you have a history of cold sores or any other relevant condition, as the treatment could trigger outbreaks.

  • Deep Facial Cleansing: Avoid undergoing deep facial cleanings or chemical peels right before the session.

After a microneedling session you should:

  • Avoid Makeup: Do not apply makeup for at least the first 24 hours after the treatment to prevent infections.

  • Sun Protection: Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen to protect the treated skin from sun exposure and prevent damage.

  • Hydration: Keep your skin hydrated with products recommended by your specialist. If you have been prescribed a healing agent, apply it as directed.

  • Avoid Heat: For the first 48 hours, avoid intense exercise, saunas, or hot baths that could increase inflammation.

  • No Exfoliating: Avoid exfoliating or using irritating products on the skin until it has fully recovered, which can vary from person to person.

It is common to experience swelling or redness after the sessions, but these effects are completely normal and do not compromise the effectiveness of the treatment. Side effects usually disappear completely within the following 48 hours, and it is not necessary to take a period of disability; in fact, it is possible to resume social and work activities on the same day of the treatment.
